‘Extremists trying to disrupt elections’

SHIKARPUR, May 3: Dr Ibrahim Jatoi, the National Peoples Party candidate for NA-202 (Shikarpur-I), has said some anti-democratic forces and extremists are trying to disrupt election activities to pave the way for postponement of general election.

He said at a press conference at his residence here on Friday that recent suicide attack on his life was part of that plan.

He tried to dispel fears about postponement of election in the wake of possible acts of terrorism on the election day and said the election commission and the caretaker government had put in place strict security measures at all polling stations to provide security to candidates and voters.

On the occasion, vice president of PML-N Sindh, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Sadhayo, announced his support for NPP candidate Mir Abid Hussain Jatoi.
