ABBOTTABAD: Traders call to end industrial exhibition

ABBOTTABAD, May 24: The traders’ associations have reiterated their demand for the removal of the trade fair by May 25 besides calling for the cancellation of permission to hold an industrial exhibition.

The trade fair, it was learnt, had been organised after being granted permission by the cantonment authorities.

This was stated by traders at a protest meeting attended by representatives of over 60 trade organizations. The meeting was held on Saturday at the Press Club here.

Traders, on the occasion, said that the local trading community mostly relied on a three-month-long tourist season.

They added that if such exhibitions were held during the same period, it could cause huge losses to their business, they added.

During the meeting general secretary of the federation Naseer Khan Jadoon threatened to stage a hunger strike if the fair was not removed by May 25.
