PM wants counter-terrorism strategy draft by Aug 13

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday discussed the law and order situation in the country with Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan with special emphasis on the terrorist attacks in Quetta in which top police officials and scores of others lost their lives.

He directed the interior minister to present the final draft of a counter-terrorism strategy on August 13, in light of earlier discussions and consultations on the subject.

The prime minister condemned the killing of innocent people and expressed his deep sorrow and grief.

Sharif saluted the courage of law enforcement agencies across the country and asked the interior minister to ensure that all possible help is extended to the families of the deceased and injured.

He expressing his resolve to fight the enemies of people of Pakistan.

Sharif also paid tributes to the police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

He said their blood would not go in vain, and that the perpetrators of the blast would be brought to justice at all costs.
