Karachi violence: Two people killed and four bodies recovered

KARACHI: Two people were killed and four bodies were recovered from different parts of Karachi on Wednesday, DawnNews reported.

Two men were shot dead in Korangi Industrial Area and Gulshan-e-Maymar whereas two others sustained injuries due to firing in Ibrahim Haidrey and Jumma Goth.

Meanwhile, bodies of four individuals were recovered from the areas of Sohrab Goth, Al-Asif Square, Manghopir Water Plan, and Ibrahim Haidery Rehri Goth respectively.

Authorities identified the body discovered in Mangophir. The deceased person was kidnapped from Balochistan.

Former CPLC Chief, Sharifuddin Memon, said he was content with the efforts made by law enforcement agencies to instill security in the city, adding that they were performing their duties well.

Karachi, the capital of Sindh province, has been a witness of incidents of terrorism and targeted killings for many years and the situation remains unchanged in several parts of the city.

According to a recent estimate, the number of killings in the city jumped to more than 2,300 in 2012 from 1,700 the previous year. More than 1,400 murders have already been recorded since the start of this year.
