Six flood-hit Pasrur schools yet to reopen

SIALKOT, Aug 31: As many as six government-run schools of Pasrur are still lying inundated by the floodwater, causing academic loss to the students enrolled there.

Prof Shehzad Butt, who is convener of the local Committee for Rehabilitation of the Flood Affected told journalists here on Saturday that the buildings of as many as 100 government schools were badly damaged during the month-long devastation caused by floodwaters from July 18 to August 18 in Pasrur tehsil.

He said at least six out of these 100 flood-hit schools located in Pasrur tehsil’s far-off areas were still lying inundated by four to five feet floodwater due to which the classes could not be resumed there after the summer vacation.
