‘Honour killing’

BAHAWALPUR, Sept 9: A woman was shot dead allegedly for ‘honour’ by her brother on Monday in village 9/BC.

Baghdadul Jadid police sources claimed the victim had relations with Shahid. At the time of the incident, she was sitting with Shahid in a field when her brother Naveed opened fire on both of them. She died on the spot while Shahid sustained serious injuries and was rushed to BVH.

TMA: District and Sessions Judge Rashid Qamar, in his verdict in the case of a sanitary worker, has directed the tehsil municipal officer and the chief TMA officer to withdraw administration’s employees from residences of government officers.

Zarina Mai had filed a complaint in the court against a government officer.

The D&SJ ordered TMA employees would not work in the houses of government officials otherwise a strict action would be taken against them.
