Youth dies of dengue in Layyah

LAYYAH, Sept 15: A youth died of dengue fever here on Sunday.

Reportedly, 19-year-old Abbas Tabassum, a student of electrical engineering, contracted fever and was admitted to District Hospital two days ago.

During preliminary examination, he was admitted to the dengue ward but due to lack of facilities, he could not be treated properly. His platelets fell to alarming levels and he started bleeding from his mouth and nose.

The patient was referred to Nishtar Hospital, Multan, on Sunday but he breathed his last before reaching the hospital.— Correspondent
