Maj-Gen Sanaullah laid to rest

MIANWALI, Sept 16: General Officer Commanding for Malakand Division, Maj-Gen Sanaullah Khan Niazi, was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard at Daudkhel on Monday.

His funeral prayers were attended by a large number of people, including Maj-Gen Obaidullah Khan, Maj-Gen Abid Hasan, Maj-Gen Ahmed Mehmood Hayat, Brig Sajid Raza, retired and serving armed forces personnel, notables from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, politicians, DCO and the Mianwali DPO.

On Sunday, the convoy of Maj-Gen Sanaullah Khan was hit by an explosive device when it was on its way from Shahikot in Upper Dir district near the Afghan border. As a result Maj-Gen Sana, Lt-Col Tauseef Ahmed and Lance Naik Irfanullah embraced martyrdom.

Army personnel laid floral wreaths on the grave of Sanaullah Khan Niazi on behalf of the president, chief of army staff, chief of air staff, chief of naval staff and chairman joint chief of staff committee.

Maj-Gen Sana is survived by a widow, two daughters and three brothers namely DIG Quetta Rehmatullah Khan Niazi, Madad Khan and Aminullah Khan.

LANCE NAIK: Lance Naik Muhammad Irfan was laid to rest at Mehmoodkot area of Muzaffargarh district with full military honour on Monday, reports APP.

A large number of people attended the funeral. Brig Muhammad Ibrahim laid floral wreath on the grave of Irfan on behalf of army chief, says an ISPR release.

Lance Naik Irfan is survived by a widow, four-year-old daughter and two-year-old son. He had joined the Baloch regiment of Pakistan Army on Dec 25, 2004.
