Minor's assault sparks protests in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: A four-year-old boy was allegedly molested by his school principal within the remit of the Gulberg Police Station in Faisalabad, DawnNews reported.

The four-year-old boy, studying in a private school, was subjected to sexual assault by his principal.

The condition of the minor was reported as critical. Relatives and local residents staged a protest on the streets of Faisalabad’s Ghulam Mehmoodabad area and also burned tyres blocking access to roads following the incident.

During the protest, demonstrators maligned the school where the assault took place and even broke its windows and doors.

Protesters moreover ransacked the school and forced it shut after which students belonging to the institution joined in the protest.

Later, a heavy contingent of police personnel reached the site of protest and managed to gain control over the situation.

Meanwhile, the accused person was arrested and was put in jail at the Gulberg Police Station.
