Cook-it-yourself: Doughnuts
Ingredients
Flour 2 cups
Caster sugar 1 tbsp
Yeast 1 tsp
Butter 50 gm
Egg 1
Milk powder 2 tbsp
Water As required
Method
In a bowl mix flour, caster sugar, yeast and milk powder. Add butter and egg in the dry ingredients.
Then knead into a smooth, soft dough using as much water as required. Leave the dough to rise for an hour at room temperature.
After an hour, punch the dough again and form a ball.
Roll the dough in half-inch thick sheet.
Cut the shape of doughnuts with a doughnut cutter or in any of your favourite shape.
Leave these cut-outs to rest again for 20 to 30 minutes.
Deep fry each doughnut in hot oil for just one minute.
When cooled, dip one side of doughnut in melted chocolate, decorate with your choice of sprinkles.
