Two suspects arrested from Chaman bypass

CHAMAN: Security forces conducted a targeted operation at Chaman bypass on Thursday and arrested two wanted suspects, DawnNews reported.

Moreover, security personnel also confiscated remote-control bombs, suicide vests, 15 locally made bombs, 30 kilograms of explosive materials and other equipment used for sabotage during the crackdown.

The operation came a day after a blast hit the area which killed six people and wounded 13 others at the southwestern Chaman border crossing between Afghanistan and Pakistan. A senior security official said that at least one Frontier Corps (FC) paramilitary soldier was among the dead.

Chaman is a small town in the southwestern province of Balochistan. It is also one of the two main crossing points for supplies for American and North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (Nato) troops fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan.
