Six women activists shifted to Multan jail

SAHIWAL, June 3: Six women activists of the PML-N and PPP were shifted to the Women Jail in Multan on Monday night on the orders of the Punjab home secretary.

They are; Zahida Iftikhar, Ms Gulzar, Tahira Nasim, Shahnaz Bano Moghal, Majida Zaidi and Aisha Javed.

They were transferred from Kot Lakhpat Jail, Lahore, to Sahiwal Central Jail on Saturday night.

The were arrested for holding demonstration outside the Punjab Assembly by the Qila Gujjar Singh, Lahore, police.

SUBSTANDARD CONSTRUCTION: Rooms constructed with the special grant of Punjab governor in the Nangal Ambia High School here have developed cracks before their formal inauguration.

The governor during his visit to Sahiwal had on March 7, 2002, gave a grant of Rs1.7 million to the school for construction of six rooms required by management.

The project was executed under the supervision of buildings department.
