KP women chamber asked to focus on Fata uplift

PESHAWAR, Nov 4: Governor Engineer Shaukatullah on Monday appreciated the contribution of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Women Chamber of Commerce and Industries in promoting economic activities in the province, and urged the chamber to also exploit investment potential in Fata.

He said that the chamber had been contributing towards building soft image of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The governor was talking to a delegation of the chamber led by its president Tasneem Zahir Shah at the Governor House here.

Mr Shaukatullah said due to improved law and order situation in the province possibilities for bringing further improvement in economy very much existed. He asked the women chamber to play role in encouraging business and trade activities in Fata as there existed tremendous investment potential. “Government will provide all possible support to the chamber in this regard,” said the governor.

The governor appreciated the chamber for holding fashion shows and conducting skill development training programmes. He assured the chamber of every possible support of the government in further cementing its role and contribution to development.

Earlier, the newly elected office-bearers of the chamber were introduced to the governor who congratulated them on assuming new responsibilities.

The delegation comprised Mussarrat Khalid, Sadia Aurangzeb, Iqbal Bano, Nadra Sabohi, Saira Jabein, Rukhsana Nadir, Lazeeza Arbab, Asmat Ara Khattak, Shehla Naz, Zahida Parveen, Shagufta Bashir, Naseem Riaz and Rukhsana Rajput.
