Four injured in attack on Nato trucks

LANDI KOTAL, Nov 9: Four people were injured in Jamrud on Saturday when gunmen attacked two vehicles taking Nato military hardware to Karachi as part of foreign troops’ withdrawal from Afghanistan.

According to officials, the attacks were carried out on the Peshawar-Torkham highway near Shahgai and in Sur Kamar.

According to witnesses, the attackers were on motorbikes and military vehicles were among the hardware being transported.

No damage was caused to the vehicles which were escorted to Peshawar by security forces.

Six people were arrested during a search operation in Sur Kamar after the incident.

Assistant Political Agent Jehangir Azam Wazir told Dawn that seven Khasadars (tribal police) had been suspended for negligence.

A cleaner injured in a similar attack on Thursday near the Jamrud bypass had died in hospital.
