Larkana delimitation finalised
LARKANA, Nov 12: In the wake of fresh delimitation, Larkana will have one municipal corporation, two municipal committees, three town committees and one district council.
The number of union councils in the district council has been increased to 44 with the addition of one new UC carved out from Kothi UC.
Amir Ali Meerani, the assistant commissioner (general) and focal person for entertaining objections regarding delimitation in Larkana division, confirmed to Dawn on Tuesday that delimitation had been finalised.
The Larkana Municipal Corporation encompassing the city area will have 20 union committees within its limits. Two municipal committee — Ratodero and Naudero — will comprise 20 and 18 wards, respectively.
Under new limitation, three town committees — Dokri, Badah and Gairrilo — have been formed in Larkana district. Larkana district council will have purely rural representation of 44 UCs.
In the primary delimitation, 43 UCs were proposed to be constituted but after hearing the objections, one new union council namely Longaee has been carved out of the existing Kothi Union Council. The Haidar Brohi Union Council has been renamed as Mashori Hattri UC.
The Qambar-Shahdadkot district will also have a district council, two municipal committees and three town committees, according to Deputy Commissioner Asadullah Abro, who said the council would have 34 UCs.
He said Qambar and Shahdadkot would have the status of municipal committees. Qambar would comprise 22 wards and Shahdadkot 16 wards, he added.
Nasirabad, Warah and Mirokhan have been given the status of town committees, he said.
