Youth booked over ‘cyber crime’

TOBA TEK SINGH, Nov 18: Kamalia Sadar police on Monday registered a blasphemy case under sections 295-A and 298-A of the Pakistan Penal Code against a youth who was arrested the other day over alleged cyber crime.

The complainant, prayer leader of Jamia Mosque Rehmania, Chak 739-GB, Maulana Hafiz Saleem, had written an application to the police, accusing Raza Kharal of his village of sharing objectionable material and using offensive language on his Facebook wall.

Meanwhile, a Kamalia judicial magistrate sent the accused to the district jail on judicial remand on the request of police.

Talking to Dawn, Kamalia Sadar SHO Rana Afzal said the 25-year-old accused was an MCom. He said the accused was jobless and had recently applied for a post in a sugar mills but failed.
