Minister rules out corruption in business loan scheme

ISLAMABAD, Dec 9: Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid on Monday defended the government’s recently announced business loan programme for youths.

Talking to reporters after attending a seminar on corruption, he said that “there is no chance of corruption in the newly-launched Prime Minister’s Youth Business Loan Programme”.

He said transparency would be the hallmark of youth empowerment schemes as the system was there to make them graft-free.

“Various checks are in place in the process, including finalisation of applicants by the board on merit, and a transparent draw through electronic ballot,” he said.
