Musharraf sees no role for Nawaz, Benazir

ISLAMABAD, April 5: President Pervez Musharraf on Friday made it clear that he was neither against People’s Party nor Muslim League but Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif have no role to play in Pakistani politics.

“I am not against any political party. People’s Party is a national party and it should be there. Neither I am against any individual,” the president told journalists when asked about his opinion about the PPP and the PML.

He said that in his speech he mentioned Benazir and Nawaz Sharif. Both were Prime Minister twice and looted the country besides ruining its governance.

“They cannot be part of Pakistani politics. As far as People’s Party is concerned, I have no problem with it. It is a national party and I wish them well,” Gen Musharraf said.

Talking about Nawaz Sharif’s Muslim League, the president said any body could join the PML but there is no role for Nawaz Sharif. “PML is a political party and I also have no problem with it.”—APP
