Hyderabad tops in power theft

ISLAMABAD: The Hyderabad Electricity Supply Company (Hesco) continues to hold the distinction of providing unaccounted for electricity to its end-users.

This was stated by the federal minister for water and power, Khawaja Asif, in a written reply to the National Assembly on Thursday. He added that nearly 7,000 illegal connections were found in Hesco’s area in the ongoing year.

Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (Pesco) comes second with 1,363 illegal consumers, followed by Multan with 1,335, Lahore with 511 and Tribal Electricity Supply Company with 70 illegal connections.
