Bhutto scions open three firms for poor

LARKANA: Patron-in-chief of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and his sisters Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari and Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari inaugurated three companies — the Sindh Leasing Company, the Sindh Mudarba Management Company and the Sindh Insurance Company Ltd — in Naudero on Thursday.

Former president Asif Ali Zardari, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, adviser to the chief minister on finance Syed Murad Ali Shah and officials of the Sindh Bank were present on the occasion.

The Sindh government established the three companies at the sixth death anniversary of the slain PPP leader Benazir Bhutto.

The companies would provide financial assistance for setting up small businesses and trade enterprises to help the people of the area, officials said.

The branches of the three companies would be established in nine more districts of the province.

Speaking to journalists, Syed Murad Ali Shah said that the object of establishing the three companies was also to provide all departments of the Sindh government with insurance cover.
