Policeman injured in grenade attack on Quetta police station

QUETTA: A policeman was injured Monday when assailants launched a grenade attack on a police station in Quetta.

According to the police, unknown gunmen attacked Satellite Town police station with a hand-grenade, leaving one policeman injured.

“Unidentified armed men riding a motorcycle lobbed a hand-grenade at PS Satellite Town, resulting in the injury of a police constable,” police sources said, adding that the assailants managed to escape from the scene.

The injured constable was taken to Civil Hospital for medical treatment.

Police cordoned off the area and a probe into the attack went underway in order to apprehend those responsible.

Quetta is the capital of Balochistan province which has seen an upswing in violence in recent months and is suffering from a separatist insurgency, sectarian violence and Taliban militants.
