Peace volunteer shot dead in Mingora

MINGORA: A peace volunteer was shot dead by unknown persons in Mingora city on Tuesday.

A police official said that a member of village defense committee and former naib nazim of Shahdarah union council Shah Zaman was killed by unknown persons.

He added that the deceased received a single bullet.

The assailants escaped the area after targeting the peace volunteer.

Police sources said that soon after the incident they started search operation in different areas of Mingora city, including Shahdarah, Marghuza town, Tahirabad and Nawey Keley, and arrested five suspected persons. The search operation was led by DSP Mingora city Yousaf Ali Khan.
