Bank manager shot dead in Peshawar

PESHAWAR/NOWSHERA: Unknown armed persons shot dead manager of a bank in Asamai Gate area here on Tuesday evening.

Waqar-ul-Hasan, manager of a local bank branch at Chowk Yadgar, was riding a car when he was fired upon by two armed persons on a motorcycle.

He was rushed to Lady Reading Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

The deceased was residing in Gulbahar No-2 in Peshawar city.

“Apparently the incident looks targeted and sectarian,” said an official of Khan Raziq Shaheed police station. According to initial police investigation, Mr Hasan had no enmity. The official said a case into the murder was yet to be registered.

In Nowshera, two unidentified bodies were found at different places on Tuesday.

Body of a young man, 20, was found at a hilltop in Sura Khel area of Akora Khattak.

The deceased was reportedly tortured to death as his face was badly disfigured.

Similarly, a man, 22, was found dead at Sheda Bad area in the jurisdiction of Nowshera Kalan police station. Police said the deceased was strangled.

The bodies were brought to district headquarters hospital for autopsy.

The police buried both the deceased at the local graveyard and began investigation.
