Ch Aslam does people proud in his hometown

MANSEHRA: SP of CID, Karachi Mohammad Aslam Khan, who was killed in a suicide attack in Karachi on Thursday, was a brave and shining student of his school at his native village here in Dodial.

“I have no words to say about my brother but I can only say he was a brave child and shining students of his school and spent his entire life as a brave man,” said Mohammad Khalid, the only brother of Mohammad Aslam, popularly known as Chaudhry Aslam, while talking to reporters here.

Shortly after the news of his killing spread, relatives and local residents began reaching Mr Aslam’s native house to condole the death.

Mr Aslam was born in Dodial on Karakoram Highway, some 15km north of Mansehra in 1963 and got his earlier education from Dodial primary school.

He said his brother had left Mansehra and settled with his father in Karachi after completing primary education.

Mr Khalid, who was set to leave for Karachi to attend his brother’s funeral prayers, said residents of Mansehra were proud of Mohammad Aslam bravery and whatever he did for the country.

He said his brother had always treated others with kindness.

“He is sweet child of family and always shy to talk with his teachers and parents,” he said.

Fida Hussain, a childhood friend of Chaudhry Aslam, said he had spoken to Aslam on Wednesday and advised him to be vigilant of his enemies.

“Would you believe what was his reply: the night I’m destined to be in grave will not come (to me) outside,” he said.

Mr Hussain said Aslam had been known in village and school for his politeness and bravery since childhood.

He was an intelligent students and great loyal to his friends and since his childhood he continued links with his friends.

“Though he was not frequent visitor to his native village, whenever he came, he visited his friends and recalled past memories with great enthusiasm and joy. I cannot forget his last meeting with me, which is now a great asset for me,” he said.
