Rawalpindi to play Islamabad in final

KARACHI: Rawalpindi will take on Islamabad in the five-day final of the Faysal Bank Quaid-i-Azam Trophy National Cricket Championship at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium from Sunday.

Due to an oversight created by discrepancies in the Super Eight standings published on Monday, it was erroneously mentioned that Lahore Shalimar had qualified for the final, whereas Rawalpindi topped the Group ‘B’ standings on a superior net run-rate after both teams finished with nine points.

Rawalpindi drew their last fixture with Multan.

Islamabad won Group ‘A’ comfortably when they outclassed Karachi Whites by an innings and 28 runs on Sunday to earn 10 points, including one bonus point.
