Playwright Asghar Nadeem Syed injured in Lahore firing

LAHORE: Renowned playwright Asghar Nadeem Syed was injured Tuesday when unknown motorcyclists opened fire on his vehicle in Lahore, DawnNews reported.

According to sources, Syed was traveling in his car near Shaukat Khanum Hospital when unidentified assailants opened fire on him.

Upon hearing the gunshots, he ducked, however, he was hit in the right arm and shoulder.

Following the attack, the gunmen fled from the scene.

Meanwhile, Syed called Rescue 1122 from his cell phone and reported the attack.

The rescue personnel arrived at the scene and shifted him to Doctor's Hospital. Syed was being imparted emergency treatment.
