Saudi prince looks forward to stronger defence cooperation
TAXILA: Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Arabia’s deputy minister for defence, on Tuesday said defense relations between Pakistan and his country would improve further in the future.
The prince was leading a defence delegation during a visit to Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF).
He lauded the high standards of the arms and ammunitions produced at POF, and in his remarks recorded in the visitors’ book, he said: “POF is a state-of-the-art modern defence complex in which modern arms and ammunition are being manufactured.”
While briefing the Saudi delegation, POF Chief Lt Gen Mohammad Ahsan Mahmood said POF was not only meeting defence requirements of the armed forces in Pakistan but also exporting products to 30 countries.
He further said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were enjoying strong defence ties which needed to be strengthened further.
During the day-long visit, the delegation also visited POF Product Display Lounges and was taken to various production units where it witnessed the manufacturing process.
