Karachi greens win junior boxing tourney
KARACHI: Karachi greens won the three-day Sindh Sports Board junior boxing championship which concluded at the Ustad Abdullah Baloch boxing stadium, Peoples Sports Complex, on Saturday.
Pugilists of the winning outfit collected 80 points by securing three golds, two silvers and one bronze medal.
Hyderabad finished runner-up with a tally of 65 points which they earned from two golds, one silver and three bronze medals.
The third position went to Karachi whites whose boxers seized 55 points from two golds, two silvers and a bronze medal.
Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, who graced the occasion, gave away the prizes.
Welcoming the guest, secretary of the Sindh Boxing Association, Asghar Baloch, gave a resume of the event and highlighted activities of the body.

44 kg: Zohaib Rasheed (Karachi greens) bt Adnan Hafeez (Hyderabad) 3-0.
46 kg: Ahmed Khan (Hyderabad) bt Bilal Ahmked (Mirpurkhas) 2-1.
48 kg: Mohammad Saeed (Karachi greens) bt Arsalan (Karachi whites) 3-0.
50 kg: Shehroz (Karachi whites) bt Jameel Ahmed (Karachi greens) 2-1.
52 kg: Arshad (Karachi whites) bt Waqas (Karachi whites) 2-1.
54 kg: Naushad (Larkana) bt Mohammad Bilal (Mirpurkhas) 3-0.
57 kg: Aqib Ali (Karachi greens) bt Mir Rehman (Mirpurkhas) 3-0.
60 kg: Umair Musharraf (Hyderabad) bt Atiq-ur-Rehman (Karachi greens) 3-0.—Sports Correspondent
