Brangelina to move to South Africa for new film

JOHANNESBURG: Hollywood's royal couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will move to South Africa this year while he works on a new film, local media reported Friday.

The pair, who have six children together, have rented a house in the upmarket Johannesburg suburb of Sandhurst for $7,600 a month, the Afrikaans-language Beeld newspaper reported, citing a source involved in the private rental deal.

The couple will live in South Africa while Pitt works on a new film with actor friend George Clooney, according to the newspaper.

It is unclear when the pair will arrive or if their children will come too.

The rental price is unusually high by South African standards, though properties in the suburb sell for $1 million upwards.

It will not be the couple's first stay in the region. They travelled to the city Swakopmund in neighbouring Namibia in 2006 where Jolie gave birth to their first biological child, daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt.

At the time Namibian police and private bodyguards mounted tight security to shield them from prying eyes.

The country later offered the baby girl Namibian citizenship.

South Africa is becoming an increasingly popular destination for Hollywood film shoots, thanks to its picturesque landscapes and comparatively low production costs.
