THATTA: Three killed, 17 injured in accident

THATTA, June 26: Three Hindu pilgrims were killed and 17 others were injured when the Datsun pickup they were travelling in turned turtle on the National Highway in Makli on Thursday.

The victims were coming from Gadap, Karachi.

Those killed in the accident were identified as Asandas, 45, his son, Prem, 5, and Mukesh Kumar, 29. Ms Janki, Ms Meena, Taijal, Tata, Saroo, Chetery, Ms Devi, Ms Khushboo, Ms Lata, Gur Mukh, Ms Kanta, Charan, Ramesh and four others were injured in the incident.

The Makli police registered an FIR and sent the bodies to Karachi in Edhi ambulances.

40 arrested: The Thatta investigation police on Wednesday night arrested about 40 villagers in connection with the recent murder case of a taxi driver, Khalid Rajput, and looting of vehicles.

The arrests were made in Chato Chand, Chilya and Hilaya villages, situated along the National Highway.
