CJP holds in-camera proceedings
LAHORE: Chief Justice Tassaduq Husain Jillani on Saturday visited the Supreme Court Lahore registry and held in-camera proceedings of nine cases.
He also issued some directions on administrative side.
Security was enhanced owing to CJP’s arrival while roads leading to the SC registry were blocked by erecting barricades.
PBC PANEL: The Disciplinary Committee of Pakistan Bar Council on Saturday held its meeting at Lahore registry of the Supreme Court under the chairmanship of Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and heard 20 complaints against advocates of the apex court including former Punjab advocate general Khwaja Haris and ex-senator Wasim Sajjad.
Sheikh Afzal, prime accused in the Bank of Punjab loan scam, filed a complaint against Khwaja Haris. However, he withdrew his application and the committee dismissed it as withdrawn.
The committee deferred hearing of Afzal’s another complaint against Advocate Sajjad till next meeting.
PBC Vice-Chairman Ramzan Chaudhry, Ahsan Bhoon, Azam Nazir Tarar and Yasin Azad were members of the disciplinary committee.
