RAWALPINDI: ‘Priority being given to health education’

RAWALPINDI, June 28: Provincial Minister for Health Dr Tahir Ali Javed has said the Punjab government is paying special attention to health education with a view to providing redressal measures and preventing various diseases.

He said it was for this reason that the budget of all teaching hospitals was being doubled from the next financial year.

He made this observation while presiding over the meeting of the health department at the EDO Health Office, Khayaban-i-Sir Syed. The meeting was attended by EDO Dr Abid Hussain Shah, DHO Dr Shoaib Khan, DDHO Dr Izhar Abidi, Mohammad Ahsan Chaudhry and other officials.

He said health was the topmost priority of the PML-Q government, and positive steps were being taken to provide basic amenities to the people in health matters.

He said in all the hospitals at Lahore evening shift had been initiated on experimental basis. He said if this experiment succeeded then evening shift would be introduced in all major hospitals of the Punjab.
