Sukkur IBA hosts international moot
SUKKUR: Delegates from 11 countries and faculties of the host country attended the inaugural session of the two-day 4th International Conference on Business Management (ICoBM) organised by the Sukkur Institute of Business Administration in collaboration with University of Management and Technology (UMT), Lahore, and Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur (SALU), Khairpur, in the Sukkur IBA auditorium on Wednesday.
The conference, on ‘Development, competitiveness and innovation’ is aimed at providing a platform to corporate sector leaders and executives, mature academic researchers and research students to share their knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship, business management and globally introduced new products.
The participating countries are the United States, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, China, India, Finland, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Nepal and Greece.
Prince Hassan Ali Khan, who was the chief guest at the inaugural session, appreciated the Sukkur IBA for providing an opportunity to scholars and experts from a dozen countries to share their knowledge and experience in the corporate sector.
Sukkur IBA director Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui in his welcome address hoped that the conference would greatly help students and the faculties from the developing countries to gain essential knowledge from the experience of their counterparts from the developed states.
IBA Karachi dean and director Dr Ishrat Hussain congratulated the Sukkur IBA for its remarkable achievements within a short period of time.
During various sessions, the delegates presented and discussed 122 research papers on environment management, entrepreneurship, economics, finance etc. Some case studies were also presented and evaluated by observers.
Prof Dr Tayyeb Shabir, Director of the institute of Entrepreneurship at the California State University, USA, discussed small enterprises and sole proprietorship in his country.
The last session of the first day was chaired by COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Lahore, chairman Mehmood A. Bodla.
