Residents protest against Dadu administration
DADU: Members of more than 50 citizen action committees, social organisations and political parties and general public held a demonstration under the umbrella All Parties Council in front of the deputy commissioner’s office here on Wednesday in protest against the administration’s failure to resolve people’s problems. They complained that people had been facing prolonged electricity outage, low pressure of gas, worsening law and order situation, encroachments, gambling dens in the town, visa system in schools and low standard of education in government schools because of interference of influential people and others.
Led by Ghulam Mustafa Janwary, Niaz Panhwer, Dr Abdul Jabbar Babar and Gulsher Solangi, the protesters surrounded the DC office and demanded the Deputy Commissioner Nasir Abass Soomro resolve their problems.
Assistant Deputy Commissioner Tarique Anwar Khokhar held talks with protesters on behalf of the deputy commissioner and dispersed peacefully when Mr Khokhar assured them that he would arrange their meeting with the officials of the department concerned to resolve their problems.
