Three hockey matches decided

LAHORE: The National Bank of Pakistan, PIA and Army won their respective matches as three more ties were decided in the Brig Manzoor Hussain Atif Memorial Hockey Tournament in Sargodha on Saturday.

The NBP drafted 2-0 win against the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) after taking 1-0 lead at the half time.

Mohammad Dilber (22nd) and Tousiq Arshad (37th) were the scorers for the bankers.

PIA trounced Railways 3-0 as Ahsanullah’s two goals in the 25th and 54th minute played a key contribution.

Nohaiz Malik chipped in with one goal in the 47th minute.

PIA led the first half 1-0.

Army outplayed Punjab 4-1 in the third match of the day.

Mohammad Adnan (5th), Mohammad Imran (42nd), Abdur Jabbar (46th) and Mohammad Imran (52nd) were the scorers.

For Punjab Zubair Riaz scored the solitary goal.

On Sunday, Police play Navy and PIA will see the challenge of Wapda-B.

After the completion of the matches on Sunday, the semi-final line-up will be finalised. The pre-finals will be played on Monday.
