‘Sehat Ka Insaf’ in Mardan division

MARDAN: The PTI-led provincial government is all set to launch the ‘Sehat ka Insaf programme’ in Mardan division from April 6 which will continue for four weeks.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting chaired by provincial minister for health Shaukat Yousafzai here on Tuesday. Mardan division commissioner Khalid Hussain, deputy commissioner Amir Latif, DIG Saeed Wazir, relevant doctors and health officials from Swabi, Mardan, Charsadda and Nowshera were also in attendance.

Mr Yousafzai claimed that the Peshawar city had now been declared free of poliovirus after completion of the first phase of the programme in the city.

He said Bill Gates, WHO and UN International Children’s Emergency Fund had congratulated the PTI-led provincial government for running the programme successfully. “We have decided to extend the programme to the districts of Mardan, Swabi, Charsadda and Nowshera,” he added.

He asked the opposition to give good proposals regarding the drive instead of criticism so children of poor families could be effectively benefited from the programme.

Mr Yousafzai said that 1,100 PTI volunteers would take part in the programme along with health officials to ensure that no child remained unvaccinated. He instructed the officials concerned to prepare lists of all union councils of the districts as well as to take other necessary steps before beginning the campaign.
