Night of the burning fallas
Every year the city of Valencia celebrates the ancient "Las Fallas" fiesta, a noisy week that is full of fireworks and processions in honor of Saint Joseph that ends in the midnight of March 19, burning large satiric figures displayed around the streets of the city. 'Fallas' are gigantic structures made of cardboard portraying current events and personalities in which individual figures called 'Ninots' are placed. The Fallas are burnt in the streets of Valencia as a tribute to St Joseph, the patron saint of the carpenters'guild.
