Story time: Imaginations

Suddenly the moon’s brightness dimmed as a shadow of darkness fell upon her, she could hear horrifyingly spooky laughter like a bunch of circus clowns, but the laughter was all around her.

SYDNEY was a 12-year-old girl. She lived in a small town in the UK called Crawley. She lived in a friendly neighbourhood where everyone was really nice to her.

On one day something amazing happened ….

Sydney had crystal clear blue eyes as deep blue as the depth of the salty sea, she had long black hair as dark as the night sky, she had lips as red as blood and skin as white as snow. Let’s just describe her as a beautiful and intelligent little girl.

Sydney loved horror! Sometimes she listened to horror stories on the radio. She even liked to look daunting by dressing up like a ghost and also used her face painting kit! But as much as she liked horror, she loved to draw. She could draw all day and use her imagination to come up with the most frightening scenes to draw, on her pad and paper; she would let her creative juices flow!

As darkness fell, Sydney was still drawing her bloodcurdling haunted forest scene on her pad of paper. As the clock struck 12, Sydney had finished her hair-raising artwork! She beamed and admired it! Goosebumps rose on her arm and a shiver was sent down her spine as she started to get afraid by her own work!

All of a sudden Sydney’s room started to shake like it was under a massive tornado attack! The light went off and things smashed to the floor, as the house rose in the air.

Confused, Sydney hid under her dressing table and was screaming hysterically. A few minutes later, the house landed on the ground and made an ear-splitting sound. This threw Sydney across her room; she hit the beautifully painted red wall that was decorated with Sydney’s art.

Sydney slowly got up, she was shivering, sweating and trembling and her body was painfully aching with weakness. She barely mumbled the three words that the majority of people would probably say in this situation; “Where am I?”

She sobbed as warm tears dribbled down her rosy cheeks, she looked at her room in horror as everything had been destroyed! She shuffled drowsily and heaved her heavy bones to all the rooms in the house, it was all no more. The more Sydney cried the more furious she got. She stared out the half-shattered window teary-eyed and realised she wasn’t in her ordinary neighbourhood anymore!

Then she let her curiosity get the best of her and stepped outside into the cold crisp night. She found herself in the middle of no-where in a creepy forest. All of a sudden Sydney remembered that she drew a picture of a petrifying forest and this was the exact image, only more detailed!

Sydney slowly strolled through the gloomy forest, she wanted to explore this wonderful discovery! It was murky and misty, Sydney could feel the blustery frosty breeze, tingling through her fingers turning them to ice-cubes! She could hear the rustling of the leaves on the trees and werewolves howling, like they were crying for help.

Her feet squelched in the squishy mud beneath her feet, she could smell the disgusting stench of deadness in the air. The twisty muddy path was covered in a thin layer of ash, along with dead plants making ugly faces at her!

Suddenly, the moon’s brightness dimmed as a shadow of darkness fell upon her, she could hear horrifyingly spooky laughter like a bunch of circus clowns, but the laughter was all around her. Sydney felt as if ghosts were surrounding her!

Sydney thought this would be her last day alive and she saw her life flash before her eyes. Was this the end? But then a light bulb popped up in her brain! Why didn’t she think of it before? All of this was in her imagination so if she imagined being somewhere else, it might just work!

She closed her eyes and pressurised herself to be in her cosy bed in her wonderful house and have everything back to normal! A flash sparked through the forest like firework, and when she opened her eyes she was where her imagination had taken her, home sweet home!

It’s true our imagination can run wild sometimes!
