Musharraf should stay if he is a commando, says Khuhro
HYDERABAD: The future of retired Gen Pervez Musharraf had been dark since he overthrew the democratic government and now it is darker.
Sindh Senior Minister for Education Nisar Ahmed Khuhro stated this at a press conference held at Circuit House on Tuesday.
After the 18th amendment, the constitution had been strengthened while the judiciary was stronger which took action against a dictator who had dismantled democracy, he said.
He said Gen Musharraf should not go abroad if he was a commando.
About politics in Sindh, he said dialogues between the MQM and the PPP were being held, but it depended on the MQM whether it joined the government or not.
He said PML-N leader Mumtaz Bhutto was criticising the Sindh government without any justification, adding that he must visit Thar and examine relief works being done there.
Stressing that besides Thar, there was need of development works in Kohistan and other backward areas, he said the government was working on development schemes in Thar and other areas so that residents of those areas could be provided facilitaties.
He said officials of the education department were directed to reopen the closed schools.
The minister said that those teachers who worked hard were appreciated for their services . He lauded services of civil society organisations which were visiting schools and apprising the government of their condition.
