380 internees get pay cards in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI: Punjab Minister for Labour and Manpower Raja Ashfaq Sarwar said the government was taking revolutionary steps for the welfare and betterment of the youth.
He expressed these views while speaking as chief guest at a ceremony held to hand over pay cards to 380 internees doing internship in various government and semi-government departments and institutions here on Saturday.
As many as 80 internees working in various government departments and 300 in private organisations for a period of six months were handed over the pay cards. Each internee is being provided a stipend of Rs12,000 per month.
The minister said the young generation was the centre of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s policies and the PML-N government wanted to improve the capabilities of the educated youth and provide them higher education.
He said 20,000 young educated people had been provided opportunities of professional training and internship in various government and semi-government organisations under the Youth Internship Programme of the Punjab government.
He said parents should allow and ask their medical graduate daughters to join the medical profession so that medical facilities might be provided to the people at the required level.
Mr Sarwar said after completion of the internship, the internees would be able to improve their capabilities and can get jobs on account of their practical experience.
