4 Railways policemen blamed for Sibi security lapse

LAHORE: Four personnel of the Pakistan Railways Police were held responsible for security lapse that paved the way for terrorists to carry out a bomb blast in Jaffar Express at Sibi station, according to an inquiry report issued on Thursday.

PR Police Additional Inspector General Munir Ahmad Chishti conducted the inquiry into the bomb blast and ordered suspension of Inspector Mohammad Mushtaq and dismissal from service of Sub-Inspector and SHO Sibi Abdul Rehman, Moharrir and Head Constable Mohammad Akbar, Naib Moharrir and Constable Nazir Ahmad.

Mr Chishti directed the PR police team investigating the matter to keep liaison with the district police to capture the culprits involved in the blast at the earliest.

He said no laxity would be tolerated in security duty and all superintendents of police should make foolproof security arrangements at stations besides enhancing train escorts.
