QUETTA: A police official was gunned down here on Saturday, police said.

Gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire at Assistant Sub Inspector Qudratullah Kakar and his eight-year-old son Muhibullah, also on a motorcycle, near Barma Hotel on Sariab Road.

The ASI died and his son suffered injuries.

Police took the body and the injured to hospital.

“Motive behind the attack is yet to be ascertained,” police said.
