Talking to mediapersons here on Friday, the DCO said as a first step the Tehsil Municipal Administration had refurbished Allied Bank Park.

A few months back the park was in pathetic condition, but now the TMA has cleaned the park of weeds and garbage and planted new flower plants.

He said that he wanted to turn a vast chunk of land lying abandoned beside the Bypass Road into a greenbelt and in this regard negotiations with the officials of Pakistan Railways were in progress.

The DCO said he also planned to make city’s only Chhapar Bazaar into a model one. “Tuff tiles would be placed and public toilets would be built in the bazaar,” he said.

He also vowed that he would try his best to make Kallar Kahar one of the most fascinating tourist spot.

Meanwhile, chairing a meeting of District Price Control Committee, he directed the officials concerned to ensure the sale of different food items at fixed price.
