Rs440m potable water project gets under way
SARGODHA: A Rs440 million project of supply of potable water in PP-33 and 34 has started, says an MPA.
Dr Nadia Aziz told newsmen that Rs160 million would be spent on water supply schemes being launched in 49 tail-end areas and Rs280 million in other areas of the two constituencies.
She further said Rs950 million had been approved for construction of a girls’ degree college over a 36-kanal piece of land and a comprehensive plan to set up commercial plaza at Mela Mandi Ground was under consideration.
DISTINCTION: The Sargodha Medical College has clinched first position among 28 medical colleges in Punjab in the MBBS final professional examination conducted by the University of Health Sciences.
Eighty-one students of the college appeared in the examination and 78 of them had passed in first division -- 96.3pc.
Sargodha Medical College Principal Prof Dr Ashraf Khan told the media that it was a relatively new institution but excelling in achievements by dint of dedication and hard work of the teachers.
COMMISSIONER: Promotion of inter-religion harmony and tolerance is the need of the hour and religious scholars should play their due role to achieve the objective.
This was stated by Commissioner Muhammad Asif while speaking to a divisional peace committee at his office.
He said it was religious responsibility of the ulema to promote peace in society and shun sectarianism.
The religious leaders assured the officials of their cooperation.
