Moin's fate uncertain as IHC restores Ilyas as chief selector

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday restored Mohammad Ilyas as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief selector, DawnNews reported.

The PCB, with its new management led by Najam Sethi, had suspended Ilyas' one-year contract as chief selector less than a month into his term. The court sought a reply from the PCB chairman Sethi in two weeks.

Ilyas was contracted by former PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf as the chief selector for both the senior and junior sides on January 18, but with the appointment of Aamir Sohail, he was demoted to chief selector of junior teams as well as the women's national team.

The IHC issued its order on a petition filed by Ilyas against his dismissal today.

Speaking to a local TV channel, Ilyas said he had not received the court order and would announce his future course of action soon.

Moin Khan was appointed as the chief selector and manager of the team by the current board.
