[Sindh] is in the grip of a heatwave while long hours of power cuts are adding to [the people’s miseries]. Routine life as well as economic activities have come to a standstill. Earlier the law and order situation was affecting business; now load-shedding has stopped economic activities. …

The federal government has announced it will disconnect defaulter feeders. If a few consumers of a feeder are involved in power theft or non-payment of bills, why [must those who pay] be punished?... The increase in power tariff is one of the main reasons of power theft. … If the federal government is going to disconnect the feeders this would invite agitation. … — (May 4)
