Rs5.5 million looted in seven strikes
LAHORE: Cash, jewellery and other valuables worth Rs5.5million were looted in seven hits in the city on Sunday.
Four robbers struck two portions of a house in Shaukat Town, locked all members in separate rooms, looted Rs500,000, 65 tolas of gold jewellery worth Rs2.7 million, mobile phones and other households before escaping. Complainants Siddique and Javed submitted applications before police.
Four robbers barged into the house of Shahid Islam of Al Raheem Homes in Johar Town police precincts and took away cash in thousands and gold jewellery worth Rs800,000.
Three robbers looted Rs250,000, jewellery worth Rs400,000 and three laptops from the house of Dr Munawar in Sattokatla police precincts and escaped.
Two robbers fled after looting Rs50,000 and jewellery worth Rs300,000 from the house of Fawad in Auqaf Colony.
Unidentified people entered an under-construction house in Razzaque Colony and took away building material worth Rs400,000.
Thieves broke into a utility store in Swaminagar and made off with goods worth thousands.
Another bunch of thieves stole a motorcycle belonging to Ramzan from Johar Town Sunday Bazaar near Mian Plaza.
