Jhang police arrest 14 criminals
JHANG, July 11: Jhang police claimed to have arrested 14 criminals of four inter-district gangs and recovered a large quantity of illicit weapons, cash, looted goods and contraband from their possession.
This was stated by DPO Khadim Hussain Bhatti while talking to newsmen here on Friday.
The DPO said the police recovered police uniforms, five 12 bore guns, one 8mm rifle, one 7mm rifle, one 222 rifle, one 30 bore pistol, a motorcycle, 3kgs hashish and currency notes.
He said the police arrested the Sardar alias Shada gang. Its ring leader, Sardar, was a former bus conductor. The members of this gang committed bus dacoities. Its four members, including the ring leader, Sardar (Faisalabad), Hasan Rashid (Layyah), Imran Nadeem (Faisalabad) and Bashir (Jhang) were arrested in Faisalabad after they had committed a bus dacoity near Garh Maharaja in Jhang district.
Mumtaz Baloch, the ring leader of the Mumtaz Baloch gang, was the resident of Jhang district and wanted in cases of murder, abduction, kidnap for ransom and other heinous crimes, the DPO said.
The members of this gang would take their victims to Sindh province after abduction. Mumtaz was the brother-in-law of notorious criminal Nawaz Gadhi of Toba Tek Singh district. Mumtaz and his men were arrested from Rajan Shah village, Layyah district, along with four kidnapped people.
Saif Naul, Mansha Naul and Liaquat Saliana of the Liaquat Saliana gang were wanted in several murder and dacoity cases. They would also provide shelter to proclaimed offenders. They were arrested in the area of Jhang Saddar police station.
Rahim Ansari, Sharif Ansari and Sharif Arain of the Abdur Rahim Ansari gang were involved in the daylight murder and dacoity in Nawab Market, Jhang Saddar. They were arrested from their hideout in Jhang when they were preparing to commit dacoity.
The Chiniot circle police arrested the Shafqat Rajoka and Haji Sipra gangs, notorious for snatching motorcycles, and recovered motorcycles and a rifle from their possession.
