PCB, BCCI revive bilateral series
LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday agreed on six bilateral series during the 2015-2023 period.
The two boards on the sidelines of the ICC meeting in Melbourne signed an MoU detailing the tours with the first tour scheduled for December 2015, likely to be hosted by the PCB at a venue, to be agreed mutually.
According to a PCB spokesman, commenting on this development, BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel said: “We recognise that there is no other contest in world cricket as exciting as an India-Pakistan series. Sports fans of both the countries eagerly look forward to these tours as this promises to be one of the most anticipated sporting events in the world.”
Meanwhile, PCB chairman Najam Sethi said: “We are delighted to announce the revival of Pakistan-India series, which we wish to hold regularly. I am happy the PCB has been able to execute an MoU with the BCCI for these bilateral tours.
“We will be announcing the schedule and other arrangements with regard to these tours at the earliest. I am confident that the cricket fans of Pakistan will look forward to these exciting contests,” Sethi added.
