The son of former chief justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Chaudhry said there were doubts on Imran’s credibility to be elected as member of Parliament.

Arsalan said he was using his right to information according to Article 19(A) of the Constitution to demand details of Imran Khan’s nomination from the secretary election commission.

He alleged that Imran was hiding certain information about himself from paperwork that the public should have access to. Arsalan went ahead to cite details related to the PTI Chairman's personal life as a cause for concern.

Arsalan had been appointed vice-chairman of the Balochistan Investment Board which was an “honorary post without salary and allowances", but due to mounting media and political pressure, he tendered his resignation last week.

Arsalan's appointment by the nationalists led government had drawn criticism from the media, opposition political parties and civil society.

Earlier in May, PTI Chief had openly criticised the former chief justice for his alleged involvement in the rigging during the 2013 polls. Imran had asked the current chief justice to take notice of how, with the support of former chief justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, a powerful media house had ‘stolen’ the general elections in favour of one party.

He had alleged that when the now-retired chief justice made an unprecedented appearance at a lecture for returning officers before the general elections, it sent a signal to the TV channel that declared the PML-N victorious when only 20 per cent of votes had been counted.

However, Iftikhar Chaudhry had called the allegations 'absurd'.
